EGView Quick Start

Follow the directions below to quickly start looking at your aircraft engine monitor data.

1.     Click    - New Aircraft Profile button.   The Create Aircraft Profile dialog box opens and allows you to create a new Aircraft Profile for your aircraft.

The first tab "Aircraft" is where you enter your aircraft details, N number, Make, Type, etc.

The second tab "engine" allows you to specify the properties of the engine installed in your aircraft.   Enter all the information as accurately as possible.  (Note - Some of the calculations such as %HP, BMEP, etc. are calculated during the file import process and use the data you entered here to calculate these and other values).

Last, go to the "Monitor" tab and select your engine monitor type / model / series and then select the options installed on your aircraft.  Save your profile.

2.     Click    - Import Data button.  The Import Data dialog box opens and allows you to import engine monitor data files into the database.  Select the "Browse" button and navigate to the directory where your engine monitor data files are located.  Select one file by clicking on the filename, select multiple files using the shift and cntl keys while clickining on the files desired, or select all the files by pressing Cntl-a.  Make sure that the aircraft profile that you just created is selected in the drop down box.  Type a comment into the "Flight Description" box and select "OK".  You should see all the files importing one after another on the progress bar.

You should be staring at the last one of your flights imported when the import is complete!  Start pressing buttons, dragging axis, etc.

3.     Click    - Open Flight button.  This button allows you to select a specific flight that was previously imported into the database.  Select a flight and then select "Open" or double click on the flight that you want to look at.
